At just 35 years of age, Marty was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer, metastasising to his liver, lungs and lymphatic system.

I found out I had stage 3 colon cancer in August, 2019. 

I was 48 with two kids and a husband who lived and worked in Denmark.

In May 2019, I was training 3 times a week, eating a varied, well balanced diet and travelling interstate for work on a weekly basis.

I’ve always been healthy and active but was probably the healthiest I’d ever been.

I was 38 years old and I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer.

In October 2018, at the age of 38 I was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer.  The week before, I presented to a GP clinic (not my normal clinic) with some abdominal cramping and nausea.

The doctor listening to my abdomen said it sounded agitated and then sent me on my way with some medication for the nausea and Buscopan for the cramping.

My husband Peter was diagnosed with colon cancer in January 2016. He was 65 at the time. He had a stage 4 cancer which had metastasised to his liver.

Up until that point he had taken 7 days sick leave from work in the 34 years I was married to him.
